Children’s Light Club International (CLCI) is committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and accountability in all aspects of our operations. This Conflict of Interest Policy outlines our principles, procedures, and practices for identifying, managing, and disclosing conflicts of interest

  • CLCI expects all board members, staff, volunteers, and individuals associated with our organization to act in its best interests, free from conflicts of interest that could compromise their objectivity or impartiality.
  • We are dedicated to preventing, identifying, and appropriately managing conflicts of interest to ensure that CLCI’s mission and objectives are not compromised

.Conflict of Interest: Any situation in which the personal, financial, or professional interests of an individual or entity may influence or appear to influence their judgment, actions, or decisions in a manner that could compromise the best interests of CLCI.

.Related Party: Any individual or entity, including but not limited to board members, staff, volunteers, donors, contractors, or family members, who has a relationship or financial interest that could give rise to a conflict of interest.

  • All board members, staff, and volunteers have an obligation to disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest promptly.
  • Disclosures should be made in writing to the designated ethics officer or board chair.
  • CLCI will evaluate each disclosed conflict of interest to determine its significance and impact on the organization.
  • The board of directors will be responsible for determining the appropriate course of action to manage and resolve conflicts of interest.
  • In situations where a conflict of interest is identified, the affected individual shall recuse themselves from any discussions, decisions, or actions related to the matter.
  • Recusal may also include abstaining from voting on specific issues where a conflict of interest exists.
  • All conflicts of interest, disclosures, and actions taken to resolve conflicts will be documented in CLCI’s official records.
  • Documentation will include the nature of the conflict, the individuals involved, and the steps taken to manage or resolve the conflict.

All information related to conflicts of interest and their resolution will be treated confidentially, with disclosure only to those individuals who need to be informed for proper management.

CLCI will conduct an annual review of this Conflict of Interest Policy to ensure its effectiveness and relevance.
